Training - Programming & Integration

P1 - Basic DLight Configuration

This is an introductory training module covering basic programming of a Dynalite lighting control system. This module uses an 8-point plan to provide each participant with the necessary skills to create and commission a scene set lighting control system.

Typical Trainee:
Electrical contractor, AV Integrator, Lighting Designer.

Who will benefit from this training session?
Anyone needing to carry out basic commissioning of a Dynalite control system to provide scene set control for one or more areas of lighting.

Prerequisites:
Participants should have a basic understanding of the principles of operation of the Dynalite system and have basic PC skills. No previous commissioning experience is required.

Equipment required:
As this course contains a number of practical assessments at least one PC notebook using Windows 95 or higher with a serial port is required between two participants. If a participant cannot obtain a PC notebook they should inform the distributor running the course as early as possible.

Course duration:
1 day.

Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session the trainee should be able to:
- Competently use DLight software to set up a Dynalite lighting network to control one or more areas of lighting.
- Follow a logical set up path to efficiently commission a project.
- Program Dynalite control panels to provide individual area preset scene control.
- Modify preset scenes to match the client’s requirement.
- Create an End User document detailing the set up of a project.

P2 - DLight Introduction to Programming

This course outlines the operations required to create programming scripts. It also looks at a number of specific Dynalite products from a programming perspective.

Typical Trainee:
Electrical contractor, AV Integrator.

Who will benefit from this training session?
Anyone with a good working knowledge of the Dynalite system set up and operation wanting to provide a higher level of control functionality.

Prerequisites:
Participants must have previous experience using DLight software. Previous completion of Training Module P1 (Basic DLight Configuration) or evidence of prior learning is required.

Equipment required:
Each participant is required to bring a PC notebook using Windows 95 or later, to allow installation of the latest version of DLight. The PC will need to have a serial port. All practical exercises are carried out using one computer between two people. If a participant cannot obtain a PC notebook they should inform the distributor running the course as early as possible.

Course duration:
1 day.

Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session the trainee should be able to:
- Competently configure the Universal Sensor for IR, PE and PIR control.
- Create one shot and sequential logic tasks in a Universal Panel.
- Interpret DyNet messages for faultfinding and task creation.
